Smart Control in a Heritage Listed Home

Integrating smart home technology in a Victorian-era home

This magnificent Victorian period home set in East Melbourne was an exciting smart home installation.

The project included audiovisual, intercom access control, beo-vision integration, 16 channel CCTV, and networking and Wi-Fi.

The challenges

In this Smart Home Automation East Melbourne project, we had multiple challenges. Installing modern automation technology is always more challenging in older homes. However, it was even more difficult in this home as we needed to adhere to the stipulated Heritage Listing rules and regulations. Although we knew it wasn’t going to be our easiest project, we welcomed the challenge of turning this historic architectural masterpiece justice into a connected, seamless smart home.

The solution

A  great collaboration between Smart Tech Homes and the builder. We worked collectively to run over 20kms of cable through internal walls and under floor boards. This smart home install was proudly delivered in under 3 months and signed off in accordance to the Heritage Listing rules.
